MATH: The underworld of the inequalities
Hey guys, Bruno here!I' sorry for not having posted for so long... actually, I've been so busy with school and olympiad things that I ended up by putting the blog aside, but I think that this is my official return to the blog. Now, let's talk about what really matters: Underworld of the inequalities? What's this?
Well, it is no suprise that there are many people with a certain peculiarity on the internet: the addiction to mathematics, and I may consider myself a good example of a person like this; however, I am rather a recent user of math forums compared to those who have been posting since 2005... So I may introduce you the main math forum on the web: AoPS(Art of Problem Solving), or simply Mathlinks (old name), which is the most adequate place for 'math addicted' people on the entire web. There, you can find olympiad stuff, college material, high schoool things and MORE!
I started posting there two years ago, I think. It was the first place where I could find people like me. And while navigating throughout the forums, you can find many people who are addicted to only one subject. For instance, users that only post solutions for geometry problems. But to talk about 'inequality addiction' we need to go deeper into the subject:
1) Inequality problems aren't so wordy. Actually, they use to be only 'given these real numbers, prove that: (the inequality)'. which allows you to post a lot of these in a short period of time.
2) They are cool, just a personal thought...
So given the not wordy problems and the joy that inequality problems bring, it is reasonable to see people with over 20.000 post only about inequalities. Actually, the 'inequality addicted users' are so addicted to it that it is very common to see people posting different inequality problems on the same post. Here you are an example:
As you can see, this user 'sqing' is an 'inequality addicted user', and he has 19.122 posts(most of then about inequalities). Furthermore, as I said, he posted another problem on his previous post. Actually, I think that one of the reasons for it is that you can have more people seeing the post if you do this, a real master strategy.
And I think this is it. I really hope you've enjoyed this post! See you!
